Creating Space: A Unique Space
The LLC grew out of a national gathering called "Creating Space." We continue to organize this gathering as a way of enabling the community of leadership development practitioners to self-organize around the questions that emerge from their work and find solutions together. The goal of Creating Space is to support and improve leadership by encouraging participants to reflect, connect, and learn from each other.
Each year, the topic of the event changes to reflect the current situation of the nation and/or the leadership development field. Previous topics have included "Seize the Moment," in response to the momentum generated by the presidential election in 2008, and "Exploring the Collective Nature of Leadership."
Requirements
We invite anybody interested in improving the leadership development field to participate, including program staff, alumni and program participants, scholars, service providers, and funders. We encourage participants to come with an open mind and be willing to learn, share, and connect with other members of the community.
